This edition of the People's Daily celebrates the 5th anniversary of the Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship Alliance and Mutual Assistance signed in 1950 with congratulatory messages the text of speeches on cooperation details of USSR's assistance to China and explanations about why China had been lagging behind industrially and economically. Although privately less than happy with some aspects of the treaty China had to appear enthusiastic in the public arena. The talking-up of China's relationship with the USSR would have been seen as essential at this time; just a month prior the US had signed a Mutual Defense Treaty with the Republic of China and drawn up the 'Formosa Resolution' authorising the use of US forces to defend Taiwan. <br> <br>The front page features a wide-angle photographic illustration of the celebration of the Fifth Anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Soviet Treat of Friendship Alliance and Mutual Assistance; in the front row L to R are Chen Shutong Dong Biwu Shen Junru Lin Boqu Liu Shaoqi Song Qinlin Guo Moruo Luo Maijin Russian Delegate Zhou Enali Li Jishen Wu Yuzhang Peng Zhen and Huang Yanpei. Maps. An exceedingly scarce promotional for automobile travelers and job seekers for the City of Longview. The city developed by Robert A. Long and the Long-Bell Company contracted real estate developer Jesse Nichols renowned landscape architect George Kessler and noted Kansas City urban planner Sydney Herbert Hare to design the new city for high caliber paper works. The city was largely built by 1925 within 2 years from breaking ground. One of the posters dates from 1975 five from 1978 and three from 1979. Locations include The Bastard Theatre The Kitchen Franklin Furnace 3 Mercer Store Tier 3 and Max's Kansas City. <br /> <br /> The posters in the collection advertise performances by Branca and his bands The Static Theoretical Girls and Daily Life as well as theater pieces by Branca and frequent collaborator John Rehberger. Posters also advertise contemporary No Wave bands including Y Pants The Gynecologists and Arsenal and creative luminaries of the period including Laurie Anderson John Lurie Ann Messner and Rhys Chatham. <br /> <br /> Avant-garde composer guitarist and luthier Glenn Branca first rose to prominence as a driving force in the New York no wave music scene helping to lead to the formation of groups such as Y Pants and Sonic Youth. As well as no wave Branca was a formative influence in totalism and noise rock in the 1980s as is today often credited as a post-minimalist. <br /> <br /> Posters xerographically duplicated one hand-tinted. Al frontespizio piccola xilografia con con mitra vescovile e spade. Sempre al frontespizio è presente una firma che probabilmente potrebbe far luce sull'autore dell'opera "Matteo Signata(?) Autore". All'ultima pagina è presente, scritto a mano, un elenco delle chiese esitenti a Modena nell'anno 1757. Trattasi probabilemnte della prima edizine conosciuta del "Diario Sacro Modenese", censito un solo esemplare in ICCU. L'opera è di grande importanza per ricostruire la storia locale modense del settecento contenendo notizie e nozioni sulle festivitò locali. Mese per mese e giorno per giorno sono indicate le feste dei vari santi con una breve descrizione della vita degli stessi. Seguono poi: Feste Mobili, Benedizini Papapli per l'Anno, Giorni ne' quali s'aprono i tribunali; Divisione dei Dipartimenti; Catalogo de' Santi Modenesi e di quei santi, de' quali si venerano i Corpi in Modena, e nello Stato Serenissimo; Santi i cui corpi si venerano nella Chiesa Abbaziale di Nonantola; Catalogo dei Cardinali Modenesi; Catalogo di tutti i vescovi (con brevi cenni delle loro vite compresa qualle di San Gemignano); Peso e Valore delle Monete Secondo la Tariffa pubblicata il 22 febbrajo 1749 (con la descrizione in peso, il raffronto ed il cambio fra quelle dei diversi stati divisi in Monete d'Oro, Monete d'argento, Monete Erose); Fiere dello Stato di Modena; Arrivi e partenze de corrieri, ordianrj della Ducale Posta di Modena, Tanto per li Paesi Esteri, come per lo Stato, secondo il moderno regoalmento. Prima rarissima edizione del primo o uno dei primi volumi della serie. In buono stato di conservazione.
