"a mixed-media extravaganza" benefit to raise funds for the 1992 Art Car documentary by Harrod Blank Saturday April 8 1989 at the U.C. Theatre in Berkeley California.<br /> <br /> The flyer which notes that it is "a benefit for Harrod Blank's next film Wild Wheels" featuring the filmmaker and photographer Liz 'Lizard' Zivic who is noted as Blank's collaborator for the event was a single day affair at the U.C. Theatre featuring an art car exhibition and a screening of Blank's 1987 comedy short "In the Land of Owl Turds" to raise funds to benefit Blank's 1992 documentary "Wild Wheels" as well as an opportunity to "Win a Ride in 'Oh My God!'."<br /> <br /> A documentary of the Art Car phenomenon in the US during the 1980s and early 1990s. Blank would make a follow-up film to the 1992 documentary "Driving the Dream" in 1998 focusing on the artists behind the Art Cars. Blank is the co-founder of the Bay Area's Art Car Fest one of the largest annual Art Car gatherings in the country as well as organizing the Art Car theme camp at the annual Burning Man festival.<br /> <br /> 11 x 7 inches on green paper. With the four elements of hip-hop—break dance scratch rap graffiti—clearly articulated to the front cover and represented throughout the booklet in full-bleed color photography. Original design by Kazu Kuzui and the film's director Charlie Ahearn; the latter supplying a brief text in English also printed in Japanese translation. Accompanied by an audio cassette reproducing the film's soundtrack with Fred Braithwaite aka Fab 5 Freddy credited as Musical Director; featuring two M.C. battles and tracks from the likes of Grandmaster Caz Cold Crush Brothers and Rammellzee.
