This is a scarce collection from a series of 25 tea and cigarette cards featuring Aesop's Fables from Typhoo Tea and Gallaher. These cards were included with Typhoo tea packets in the former's case and were included in cigarette packets in the latter's. These cards are highly collectable with a short excerpt from Aesop's classic fables to the rear with matching colour illustration to the front. Someone attempted a repair on this tear with glue at some point - a bit of foxing from it. The spine title is missing. An inch at the head of the spine is lost showing German gothic scrap. The text is printed in two columns with the Latin and English presented side-by-side. According to Shaw & Shoemaker there appear to be three printings of this volume executed by Robinson for three different publishers see 39946-8 not in fact specifically noting the one executed for J. & T.
