Edges worn and many corners rounded; paper labels partly missing from first two volumes. Scattered moderate dampstaining and spots yet very good condition overall. <br /><br />Galland not only translated the Arabic text which derived from an earlier Persian model now lost but he added a few stories of his own including Alladin and his Magic Lamp and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves both later Disneyfied into the American mainstream.
