Complete 5-volume set, fully bound in soft brown leather and in good condition for its age. French text. The spines all have title pieces and gilt decorations. The volume number pieces from volumes 2 & 5 have come away and volume 1 is missing a piece of the spine strip near the head. Board edges and corners are all lightly worn and the gilt has partially rubbed away from the spines. There are a few markings to front and rear boards. Endpapers and prelims all have tanned page edges and each volume has the signature of the former owner to the second end page. The text remains clean and unmarked and the bindings are sound. AD Used

No spine label on vol. 1; this spine also has a 2-3cm split on its rear side. Foxing and tanning on the page blocks and some pages. Faint pencil marks on front pastedown of vol. 1. Clipped upper corner of the FEP from vol. 2. The pastedown hinges on vol. 1 have splits, however the binding generally remains sound in both volumes.
