In this respect they are a continuation of the Books of Kings and constitute our main source of information regarding the fortunes of the captives who returned to Judea to reconstruct their national lire. Their trials and difficulties are vividly recounted. Above all they tell of the ebb of the religion of Israel until the ride turned with the arrival of Ezra. His activities are of more than national importance. He was humanly speaking the means of preserving Judaism which in turn gave birth to the two other great religions of the world.

Shipping/Handling/Insurance/Tracking Included within the continental U.S. Free Shipping. Consequently the historical Books of the Bible are an indispensable source for the study of the development of Judaism. In them we read of the conflict between religion contaminated by heathen influences. From this point of view the Books of Kings are exceptional interest as well as being a record of the decline and fall of the Israelite monarchy.

Shipping/Handling/Insurance/Tracking Included within the continental U.S. Free Shipping. IN HEBREW. RARE comprehensive index of Biblical and early 20th century Palestine regions and settlements. Each location is given by its contemporary Arab name, its ancient Hebrew (Biblical or Talmudic) name when one is available, and in its modern Hebrew name, providing it was colonized at the time. Appended to this book are a list of Biblical sites whose location in modern Palestine was not yet determined, and a list of Roman and Greek names (in Latin letters) for sites, which differ considerably from the Hebrew and Arabic names.
