The collected sketches Marmontel contributed to LE MERCURE DE FRANCE notable for their polished style and their faithful depiction of French society during the reign of Louis XV. Minor browning to the edges of the first and final few pages. Volume two shows some discoloration of the paper where there was apparently an attempt to wash out writing but the text is quite clean.
