Also present in this bound collection of the 12 issues published in 1844 are Poe's review of Horne's "Orion" and Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Earth's Holocaust" as well as contributions by Longfellow Bryant Lowell etc. Small quarto: iv 296 iv 295 1 pp. with an illustrated title page and 38 mezzotint and engraved plates including 4 in color. In a contemporary one-half black morocco over patterned cloth binding with gilt-stamped titles and decorative borders. Occasional mild foxing and smudging to the contents. Though the hinges are cracked the binding remains quite sound. The cloth is toned and a bit soiled with some fraying along the fore-edge of the rear board. Small nick to the top of the front joint.
