Letter from Poe to Brininstool attesting to the accuracy and authenticity of this work is reprinted. "The Only Truthful and Accurate Account of the Killing of This Young Desperado." Poe's story first appeared in Wide World magazine of London in 1919. It was then printed as a first separate by Brininstool in 1922 in a printing thought to be limited to 50-55 copies with no illustrations. This copy is Brininstool's second separate printing to which he added Poe's letter of March 5 1923 3 illustrations and changed "Death" to "Killing" in the title. The first separate is rare and this second separate very scarce. Light wear to the spine ends and covers lightly soiled else a very good copy of this very scarce and important first-hand account.
