19049596<p>This is a nice condition antique set of "The Works of EDGAR ALLAN POE." 1904; Funk & Wagnalls; New York. Complete set in ten volumes. "Cameo Edition" with a white cameo imprinted at the bottom-right corner of the front covers. Each volume contains a frontispiece with a tissue guard. With an Introduction by Edwin Markham that notably positions Poe as a tragic monumental figure in American literature. The volumes measure 6" tall x 4" wide. There is a "General Index" at the back of Volume Ten. Sharp cover corners. The white lettering has faded from the spines as is common with this set. All volumes are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. All covers are firmly attached. Nice interiors - the pages are mostly clean with only a few issues found: Pages 158 & 159 in Vol 4 have tanning along the inner edges from a slip of newspaper that was left between the pages as a bookmark; the tissue guard in Vol 6 has a small stain; light smudging at the back of the Vol 4 frontispiece; Volumes 1 3 5 7 & 10 have a bookplate affixed to the front end paper; light tanning to a few of the end papers and pastedowns. Overall the set is in Very Good condition.</p> Funk & Wagnalls hardcover
