"Cameo Edition" with a white cameo imprinted at the bottom-right corner of the front covers. Each volume contains a frontispiece with a tissue guard. With an Introduction by Edwin Markham that notably positions Poe as a tragic monumental figure in American literature. The volumes measure 6" tall x 4" wide. There is a "General Index" at the back of Volume Ten. Nice interiors - the pages are mostly clean with only a few issues found: Pages 158 & 159 in Vol 4 have tanning along the inner edges from a slip of newspaper that was left between the pages as a bookmark; the tissue guard in Vol 6 has a small stain; light smudging at the back of the Vol 4 frontispiece; Volumes 1 3 5 7 & 10 have a bookplate affixed to the front end paper; light tanning to a few of the end papers and pastedowns.
