Nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes. <br/><br/>A journalist and diplomat Malaparte is best known for his two autobiographical novels about his experiences during and immediately after WWII "Kaputt" 1944 and "La Pelle" 1949 the later of which was filmed in 1981. Van Wert corresponded with Robbe-Grillet during his dissertation "The Theory and Practice of the Cine-Roman" Arno Press 1978."<br/><br/>After the Nouveau Roman movement dissolved its most prominent author and theorist Alain Robbe-Grillet experimented further with the novel's structure incorporating his experience as a filmmaker and by the late 1970s was making intertextual "Collage Novels" integrating works he completed in collaboration with artists such as Rene Magritte Jasper Johns and Irina Ionesco. <br/><br/>"Souvenirs du Triangle d'Or" was later translated by J.
