Collection of twelve vintage black-and-white still photographs from the 1958 French film. <br/><br/>The great French director's second film about a wealthy woman who has become bored with both her emotionally distant husband and her lover and abruptly leaves them both to take up with a younger man she just met. After it was released in the US the film became the subject of a landmark First Amendment case before the Supreme Court where Justice Potter Stewart in declaring the film not obscene issued the immortal phrase "I know it when I see it" in regards to what constitutes pornographic material. <br/><br/>A story set and shot on location in France including Paris Dijon Burgundy and the Cote-d'Or. <br/><br/>8 x 10 inches. 1918JBC00947-2995 blank pages with diagrams and solutions with Christmas Greetings tipped in. Small octavo 7 1/2" x 5" recased in maroon cloth with gilt lettering to spine and original cover laid on. A C White's Christmas series number 24. Bibliotheca Van der Linde-Niemeijeriana: 2645 Whyld 24 Betts 33-40 First edition. 300 problems by Godfrey Heathcote 1870-1952. Mainly 2- and 3-movers 100 problems are in big diagrams. A. C. White Christmas Series was popular series which ran from 1905 through 1936. the publisher of the series was chess composer and enthusiast Alain Campbell White 1880-1951. White sent most books of the series to his friends as Christmas gifts. But they were offered for sale too. The series consists of 44 books on problem chess and one pamphlet from 1912. Most books are hard covers bound in red cloth with gold lettering usually written in English sometimes in German and French and one was partially in Czech. Most of the books have a printed Christmas wish slip by White usually bound in after a title page. It appears that a part of the editions of some books have wish slips and some parts do not. The number of copies published of separate volumes is unknown for the most part. Karel Morky. All three photographs with a stamp specific to the film's Italian release on the verso along with cropping annotations in pencil and two with holograph ink annotations identifying Delon and Vitti. <br/><br/>A woman's newfound relationship with a power-hungry stockbroker gradually erodes as she becomes dissatisfied with his shallow interests. The final film in Antonioni's modernity trilogy preceded by "L'avventura" 1960 and "La notte" 1961.<br/><br/>Shot on location in Rome and Verona Italy. <br/><br/>9 x 6.75 inches. Two neat horizontal folds and small splits at the ends of the folds very good or better. Laid in are four mimeographed pages from Dorothy Ross Associates promoting the film listing credits a return form for comments and a page of reviews. A few short tears at the margins very good or better. A collaborative 1967 film in 13 sequences by six French directors decrying the American involvement in Vietnam and supportive of the North Vietnamese. Text in French.<br /> <br /> One of ten films directed by Alain Robbe-Grillet ostensibly about the target of a kidnapping plot hiding out at a high society brothel but in reality an exercise in image making fourth wall breaking and the exploration of Robbe-Grillet's usual concerns of eroticism voyeurism and doppelgängers. One of his most commercially successful films down mostly to the presence of "Emmanuelle" star Sylvia Kristel far more prevalent in the marketing material than in the actual film. <br /> <br /> Lobby cards 10: 11.5 x 9.25 inches.
