Ne emerge un ritratto nuovo del filosofo, non più dunque "il salice piangente della filosofia" ma una "natura demoniaca o dionisiaca a seconda delle circostanze".

Attraverso l'esaltazione del suo "unico e grande maestro" Schopenhauer, è Nietzsche stesso dunque che si presenta come educatore: educatore alla grandezza e a "compiti di portata storica universale".
