Ihm verdankt man die Entdeckung des Myosins des flüssigen kontraktilen Muskelplasmas er prägte den Begriff des Enzyms für die umgeformten Fermentvorstufen und des Trypsins für das Pankreasenzym für die Eiweißverdauung.
