The text pages of this book are remarkably clean. There are some blemishes present on the half title page which we will photograph for closer inspection. The text pages are otherwise clean. The paper is bright the font is well-devery goodd and the text is legible at all points. There is no widespread foxing or staining. All of the diagrams and illustrations remain clean and clear. The edges of the text block have darkened over time. The pages continue to sit together very well indeed. They are free from creasing crumpling and tearing. One page edge does stand proud of the bottom of the text block. As a result of this its edge has become slightly frilly. This page sits at a point where there is a crack between two pages 102-103 please see photograph. It remains firmly held in the binding however. Externally this book has dark brown cloth boards with a pictorial front cover. Both covers display small amounts of rubbing and staining from both handling and shelving. There is minimal wear around the edges or at the corners. The material at either end of the spine is a little frilled but there is no loss.Both of the book's hinges are intact the binding is tight and there are no loose or missing pages.
