Issued with eight original pochoir plates each signed and numbered by Dine; INCOMPLETE; this copy lacking one plate containing only seven pochoir plates. Additionally illustrated in black-and-white. Text is unbound and loose as issued with plates and text laid into an illustrated wrapper with original worn and chipped glassine and a color printed slipcase. The spine of the illustrated wrapper is creased and somewhat worn and the slipcase is moderately sunned and somewhat soiled. Hand-numbered 248 of 250 copies and signed on the colophon by Jim Dine and the translator Ron Padget. The single pencil-numbered pochoir differs from the colophon and is 247/250. In 1966 the Robert Fraser Gallery was prosecuted for staging an exhibition of works by Dine that was described as indecent but not obscene. The works were removed from the gallery by Scotland Yard and Fraser aka Groovy Bob was charged under a 19th-century law that applied to street beggars. Fraser was fined 20 guineas and legal costs.
