This is a very good x-library copy in the original olive green bevelled cloth boards, elaborately decorated with an architectural scene in black and gilt. Library book plate on endpaper. Small faint handstamp to top right corner of all the plates. Preface and 43 pages of text and 5 pages of plate titles and descriptions + 30 full-page lithograph plates in black & white. The plates include full-page elevations, plans, and interior views of the panelling, fenestration, staircases, etc. All the mansions illustrated are large scale grand buildings in the Queen Anne, and other well known European styles:Jacobean, Louis XVI, Adams style, etc. The book has a new cloth spine, with a white printed paper title label on the spine.
