Includes photographic images of Pasadena schools and residences the Hotel Green the Hotel Maryland and Marengo Avenue. The Pasadena Board of Trade precursor to today’s Pasadena Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1888. It was conceived to promote a positive business climate in Pasadena and it was an early collaborator with the Valley Hunt Club in Pasadena’s New Year events. In 1895 when the Valley Hunt Club determined it was unable to continue staging the Rose Parade the Board of Trade saved the event and initiated the formation of the Tournament of Roses Association. It is also credited with proposing the construction of the Colorado Street Bridge across the Arroyo Seco then leading the effort to design finance and construct the iconic structure. Flyer promoting the second date at Manchester's famed Factory of Stiff Little Finger's UK tour after the surprise success of their first album - an interesting document in the development of one of the most important indie record labels. Rough Trade who issued this flyer began as a London record shop and soon expanded to tour promotion and music releases under their own imprint. Yet it wasn't until the unexpected success of Stiff Little Finger's first album INFLAMMABLE MATERIAL it debuted at #14 on the UK charts on Feb. 3rd 1979 that Rough Trade was truly established as a force in the UK music scene. Also on the bill are Robert Rental Essential Logic and Daniel Miller's The Normal. Miller would use his experience at Rough Trade to later launch Mute Records another key UK post-punk indie. 8.25'' x 12''. Offset flyer printed black on red recto only. Mild wear at edges. Belt buckles tied down and numbered and first four sample pages are labeled either bronze cast bronze brass wire or steel wire. Variance in design and size are subtle though apparent. Hollander would go on to produce belt buckles for the Department of Defense during the Vietnam War. Folder edgeworn scuffed and rubbed with brief exposure to edges. The use of yellow covers ; Canton Railroad Chesapeake and Curtis Bay Railroad Maryland & Pennsylvania R. R. Municipal Harbor Belt R. R. and Baltimore & Annapolis R.R.Combinations of colors are used to represent interline rails. The map is quite decorative in the wall map tradition. A very nice wall map.
