Nelle acque tormentate del mare d'Iroise si stagliano le possenti sagome di rocce mortali che formano la Chaussée de Sein, dove per secoli le navi sono naufragate, perdendosi per sempre nell'oblio: un cimitero di relitti, territorio sacro di Ankou, il servo della morte. Nel mezzo di questo caos roccioso, il faro Ar-Men, una torre ciclopica senza superflui decori, domina il mare da oltre cent'anni. Una storia avvincente sullo sfondo di tempeste eccezionali, quella di un pugno di uomini determinati a costruire un faro leggendario sopra uno scoglio inaccessibile, in un luogo dove ogni destino è dettato dal volere del mare. Oggi nell'occhio del ciclone c'è una lampadina, ma un tempo vi era un evolversi d'incandescenza. Il guardiano la osservava diffondersi sull'acqua: anche se il vento scardinava i vetri, la lanterna continuava a irradiare di luce quel paesaggio infernale. Ma che cosa accadeva nella mente di un uomo rinchiuso in una torre mentre la tempesta bussava con veemenza alla porta? Ancora oggi, se si ascolta con l'immaginazione, dalla torre di Ar-Men si possono percepire le urla dei guardiani e i lamenti dei naufraghi, perché dentro ogni faro si cela un po' di eternità.
