This is a good hardcover reference copy in an about very good dust jacket. Slight exposure to moisture makes this a reference copy. The page-edge has very faint tan spots. But no stains internally, just a little stiffness to the lower part of the pages. NO mustiness, no stains. The jacket is worn around the edges, corners, and small piece gone from base of spine. Jacket bottom edge stuck to book front and rear boards. All text and plates clean. 35 black & white plates + many drawings in the text. This is the 1968 reprint of the Marshall's classic work first published by the British Museum in 1902. 10" high X 8" wide, 258 text pages + plates. A good reference copy of this important work. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
cm. 19 x 27,5, 152 pp. Istituto Nazionale di Studi Etruschi - Biblioteca di ?Studi Etruschi? Against the background of the two-way lexical traffic between Etruscan and the Indo-European languages of archaic Central Italy, this work comprises case studies for lexical borrowings from Etruscan into Latin. It employs structuralist methods of analysis and draws on recent advances in the understanding of Etruscan grammar and the interpretation of the longer Etruscan texts. In the absence of a plausible Indo-European etymology, each Latin word is examined in the light of the Etruscan lexicon, word formation and phonology. The meaning of the Etruscan source is discussed, and an attempt is made to clarify its transmission and naturalization in Latin.
