Often referred to as the 'Leadership' magazine the SS-Leitheft was designed to teach and preach National Socialist ideology and NS lifestyle to members of the SS. Many issues focused on racial politics blood lines Aryanism and the importance of racial purity. The whole visual look of these rare magazines was to enforce and enhance the SS ascetic and elite style. The typography use of runic and Nordic symbols photography and illustration was all geared to push the SS ideology and Nazism in its purist form. This fine collection of SS-Leithefte has taken many years to compile. A very small number around 3 of issues from the 1.Jahrgang are known to exist in two Deutsche Bibliothek and there are no doubt an equally small number in private collections. Unfortunately I have never seen any come onto the market in 40 years. Each year of this fine collection includes a black Collectors slipcase with silver lettering to cover as illustrated. Very scarce to find such a collection of SS-Leithefte come onto the market.
