The group consists of eight lovely & tender color gouache paintings on silk. Each work is skillfully painted by a fine artist with a steady hand. . Silk is an unforgiving medium corrections are impossible. Painting must be done without the least bit of hesitation otherwise the silk will be forever spoiled. . THE PAINTING SUBJECTS: . The suite shows traditional Chinese ladies of beauty in typical period flowing silk garments in traditional Chinese settings showing architecture gardens tropical southern scenery foliage with lovely flowers and one plays a harp. . Each work is brushed signed by the artist sealed in red cinnabar chop Ying Zhang with title. The work of several artists. . THE ARTISTS: . This group of paintings were executed by three artists: a. JUE SHI dated 1948 b. ZHONG RU dated 1952 c. XIA LIUYING dated 1968 . These kinds and styles of contemporary Chinese paintings were distributed by the Guoji Shiduan Rong Bao Zhai and other similar Beijing book & art studios during the late 1940's through the 1950-1960's. . There was a stable of yet to be famous young aspiring Chinese artists who created traditional Chinese landscapes for these studios. . THE MOUNTINGS: The works are beautifully mounted on brocade silk borders in tender pale blue. . CONDITION: Each example is in excellent flawless condition There are no marks or other issues.
