Plus 2 double-page plates as endpapers, "Gravesend (.)" on first endpapers; "The Ile of Wite Liying (.)" on last endpapers, repeated in both volumes. Half-titles present, old signature to each. Decorative initials, shoulder notes. Hardcover, uniformly bound in the original publisher's quarter smooth dark-blue calf and matching cloth-covered boards, gilt ruled sides, spine gilt, heads slightly bumped, and with pictorial endpapers as mentioned above, cracked at inner hinges; top edge gilt. Overall fine, attractive set, still untrimmed, preserved in the original state, and with crisp, bright interior. ~ First edition.
