18839476<p>This is a beautifully illustrated copy of "LITTLE PEOPLE OF ASIA" by Olive Thorne Miller. 1883; E.P. Dutton & Company; New York. Profusely illustrated with both in-text and full-page drawings throughout. The book is a non-fiction geographical and cultural study of daily life for children across various Asian cultures in the late 19th century. It explores how children are raised including their clothing habits games schooling and unique customs. Countries/cultures explored include Eskimos Turkey Syria Persia Kyrgystan "Kirghiz" India Tibet Russia "Tartar" Siam Siberia China Japan and Poland/Ukraine "Tuski".<br /><br />Condition:<br />Soiling and staining to the covers. Sharp cover corners. Bright gilt lettering on the front cover; the gilt on the spine has somewhat faded. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. The text pages are in nice condition - mostly clean with only an occasional light smudge found here and there. The front end paper up to page 9 are creased at the upper-outer corner. The front end paper is also creased at the lower-outer corner with a small tear at the outer edge. The rear end paper is creased at the lower-outer corner and the upper-outer corner tip has torn away. Overall the book is in Good condition.</p> E.P. Dutton & Company hardcover
