He held the office of High Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 1892 and later became Deputy Lieutenant and Justice of the Peace for Hertfordshire. He lived at Fanhams Hall Ware Hertfordshire. Externally rather rubbed with wear and bumping to extremities. Slight straining to front hinge. Internally firmly bound.
