This interesting period collection is arguably the scarcest of the author's 'a la Mode' series. It was first published in 1887 and reprinted at least three times in that year. A fourth edition was followed by a fifth in the same year and the work remained in print throughout the Edwardian period reaching at least sixteen editions by 1915.
