"Seconda edizione" dei “Brindisi” del Malatesti (la prima è del 1673, con il titolo “I brindis de’ Ciclopi”) e "prima edizione" dei “Brindisi” del Salvetti. Cfr. E’ illustrata da un’erudita Prefazione, in cui si danno notizie dei due Autori, e si ragiona di questo genere di poesie. Alcune del Salvetti stanno anche nel “Libro terzo del Berni, poesie burlesche”, 1723” - Bagnasco “Fondation B.I.N.G.”, II, 1215. Con lievi uniformi arross. ma complessivamente buon esemplare.

Pris sous la pression de la rue et des éléments les plus radicaux du mouvement révolutionnaire, le 'Tableau du maximum' est l’aboutissement et la réalisation du projet égalitaire des “Enragés”, des hébertistes et d’un petit groupe de conventionnels autour de Robespierre et de Saint-Just. Il visait à instaurer un dirigisme strict en matière économique, qui incluait également le contrôle des salaires. In tutto, 16 incisioni poste all'inizio di ogni libro, con soggetti di carattere agreste o mitologico, pieni di vivacità, incisi da Dumesnil. Il volume è costellato da fregi silografici e sobri capilettera. Esemplare fresco e pulito internamente, legatura piena pelle coeva, dorso con 5 nervi, riccamente decorato con fregi floreali in oro, titolo in oro su tassello rosso. Angoli e cuffie consunti. Sguardie colorate, tagli rossi, nastrino segnalibro coevo in raso verde. Gli unici esemplari censiti sono elencati sullo Spanish Bibliographic Heritage Union Catalogue.La Biogr. In 12° (16,4x10 cm); 173, (1) pp. Bella ed elegante legatura coeva in mezza pelle scura con titolo, autore e filettatura in oro al dorso. Dorso a 4 nervi. Piatti foderati con carta marmorizzata. Alcune strofinture alla legatura ma nel complesso in bunono stato. Prima ed ultima carta leggermente brunite. Leggerissimo alone al margine superiroe delle prime due carte (non fastidioso o intenso). Piccolo difetto della carta, dovuta alla qualità della stessa, a pagina 6 dove una piccola mancanza di 3 mm sfiora una lettera. Alcuni leggeri foxing in poche pagine dovuti alla qualità della carta, ma nel complesso esemplare più che BUONO. Prima rarissima edizione delle poesie anacreontiche di Meli tradotte in italiano con testo in dialetto siciliano a fronte. Opera dalla bellissima e curatissima veste grafica, dove la prefazione dell’editore e i titoli di tutti i componimenti, si presentano in elegante carattere corsivo. Opera stampata su carta di buona qualità. Giovanni Meli (Palermo, 6 marzo 1740 – Palermo, 20 dicembre 1815) è stato il più importante drammaturgo e poeta dialettale siciliano della sua epoca. Già conosciuto in giovane età per i suoi componimenti nei circoli letterari palermitani raggiunge a 22 anni la fama con il poemetto “La Fata Galante”. Ma la fama non porta le richezze e laureatosi in medicina, per mantenersi si ritira nel paesino di Cinisi dove per il suo bizzaro modo di vestire (porta abiti da prete anche senza essere mai stato ordinato) viene chiamato l’abate Meli. E’ qui che il maggior tempo libero permette al Meli di dedicarsi quasi totalmente alla letteratura. Vengono così alla luce le Elegie e la Bucolica oltre ad un certo numero di scritti scientifici. Richiamato a Palermo dall’aristocrazia cittadina, dove Meli è richiestissimo per intrattenere le dame dei salotti, in questa atmosfera di amori e corteggiamenti scrive una notevole serie di Odi e Canzonette dallo stile personalissimo e ispirate dal gentilsesso. Proprio questa forma di componimento gli diede la definitiva consacrazione letteraria tanto che proprio a questo tipo di composizione si deve l’ispirazione di alcune opere di Goethe, Foscolo e Leopardi. Nell’1787 pubblica le sue Poesie Siciliane, che sono ritenute, ancora oggi, esempio del livello eccelso che può raggiungere la poesia dialettale. La fama non gli diede mai la ricchezza e, nonostante i numerosi anni di insegnamento universitario, sfortunate vicende famigliari lo portarono, in tarda età , a sopravvivere grazie agli aiuti di amici e potenti come il Parini. Questa collezione delle poesie Anacreontiche contiene anche le due celebri composizioni dedicate al Vino ed ai Baccanti. PRIMA EDIZIONE RARISSIMA, un solo esemplare censito in ICCU. The title page continues: "With the respective branches of pastry and confectionary, the art of potting, pickling, preserving, &c., cookery for the sick, and for the poor; directions for carving... Also a collection of valuable family recipes,in dyeing, perfumery, &c. Instructions for brewing, making of British wines, distilling, managing the dairy, and gardening. And an appendix, containing general directions for servants relative to the cleaning of household furniture, floor-cloths, stoves, marble chimney-pieces, &c. forming in the whol a most complete family instructor."
