8vo., First Edition, with a frontispiece and 7 plates, title and three following leaves lightly browned; original brown cloth , upper board and backstrip blocked and lettered in black, an unusually bright, clean copy. In the 1920s Ward Lock produced a series of themed recipe books based on Beeton's best-selling BHM. This is (we believe) the fourth of eight such titles published between 1924 and 1925. Most of the series continued to be reissued as increasingly independent collections in their own right; some were themselves later amalgamated producing a complex bibliography.
8vo., with coloured frontispiece, 7 coloured plates, numerous plates in monochrome and illustrations and diagrams in the text, small neat contemporary inscription on half-title; yellow boards, burgundy cloth back blocked and lettered in gilt, gilt faded (but entirely legible) else a remarkably bright, well-preserved copy. With numerous advertisements printed in sepia at front and rear. Very nice copy of an early post-war issue of the 'family' derivative of Beeton's Household Management.
8vo., Second Edition, with coloured plates, line drawings in the text and pictorial endpapers, inscription on half-title; brown tweed cloth, backstrip lettered in darker brown, a near fine copy in price-clipped dustwrapper. Considerably enlarged and metricated version of the original edition of 1974. Arguably Grigson's most influential work. SCARCE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION.

Lavishly illustrated reissue of the author's first book, with Minton's original illustrations augmented by well-chosen plates by Old and Modern Masters. David contributes a new introduction written expressly for this edition; in it she provides a fascinating and hard-hitting account of her publishing history. The introduction to the original edition of 1950 is preserved. A well-produced and respectful version of one of the first of the author's three cookery books that changed English cooking forever. Written, designed and photographed by three Greek-Canadian sisters, this cookbook boasts 105 easy recipes and 112 stunning colour food photographs. It will appeal to aspiring cooks who long for the comforts of simple, traditional Greek dishes such as Spanakopita, Souvlaki and Tsatziki, while offering recipes that will also inspire seasoned chefs. Readers will be pleased to find modern takes on traditional ingredients, such as Beef Tenderloin Stuffed with Figs and Apricots, or Shrimp with Ouzo and Chilies. Over half of the recipes are vegetarian-this is real Greek cooking. Filled with tips, variations, and make-ahead suggestions, this book even offers 12 complete menu ideas which will assist a cook in putting together a meal from start to finish. Heartwarming tales of how the recipes came to be staple dishes in the three sisters' homes are shared throughout. The anecdotes are enhanced by a storybook of black and white photographs that document the family rituals of a modern Greek-Canadian household. This cookbook invites the reader to create rituals around their own dinner table. It reminds the reader that food is not just a means for survival; it is a chance to pause with family and friends and connect with loved ones. Book
