This is a letterpress edition of the classic children's story. It was printed at TYPA a print and paper art centre in Estonia specializing in letterpress publications. In 2020 TYPA won the Europa Nostra Ilucidare Special Prize for heritage-led innovation. It is a unique museum and studio as every item of their machinery is still in use and they continue to create fabulous hand-printed publications using traditional techniques. Hand bound by Pauline Rummel in natural linen with black title and illustration silk screened to front cover. In full color illustrated dust jacket with yellow title to spine panel and blue title to front. The illustrations were re-drawn for letterpress and the layout was redesigned by Mana Kaasik. Body text composed with Literaturnaya Bold on a Linotype machine. Title page and dust jacket set by hand with Admiral typeface. Both know for their appearances in the Kadeko Kabarett der Komiker which the Nazi's kept a watchful eye on eventually moved against to turn it into a venue sympathetic to the Nazi regime. Printed page dedicating the publication to a large number of colleagues incl. Emil Jannings Zille Tucholsky Ernst Rowohlt Valesca Gert Trude Hesterberg Thomas Heinrich and Klaus Mann Max Brod Fritz Lang among many others. Scarce libretto of a strange Futurist one act opera with talking a tree Euphobia shrubs and airplanes among the characters some of which are actually human --aviators soldiers and natives -- even if they intone like actors in a Greek tragedy. This oddball propagandistic work more an oratorio than opera celebrates war "sweet war" aviation and territorial conquest -- the things that cast a spell on so many Futurists and which were the essence of Fascism. Three copies located on OCLC of this libretto brochure at Berkeley Harvard and one in Italy. There are copies of the printed music elsewhere. The work was first performed at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 1937. 8vo. 20 by 13 cm. 23 pp. Dedicated to Mussolini. Pavolini like many adherents of the Futurist Movement came to embrace Fascism. Brautigan met Sherry Vetter at an Irish pub in North Beach early in 1970. He was instantly smitten and began a two-week courtship by phone. "Richard for his part tutored Sherry in his literary preferences trying to influence her reading tastes. He introduced her to the work of McClure Snyder and Creeley and to classic writers "he thought were really great like Baudelaire and Sappho." He recited poetry to her. Vetter recalled Phil Whalen's poem "Three Variations All About Love" a personal favorite" Hjortsberg Jubilee Hitchhiker p.420. Since the festivals founding the guiding principle has been to showcase and preserve the historic architecture of Ocean Drive in Miami FL. This archive of original programs most between 24 and 28 pages shed light on the development of events as well as provide a record of the officers board members and trustees of the MDPL. Loaded with original advertisements and each issue contains the schedule of events for the corresponding year. OCLC locates "1" copy of the 1993 program. The author architectural and art historian David Arkin 1899-1957 published this work at a critical moment when the official Soviet policy was starting to turn away from Western and early modernist examples. A professor at the Moscow Architectural Institute he was accused of "cosmopolitanism" for publishing this work though he managed to avoid deportation.
