Collection of sketches stage arrangements and letters by two "conferenciers sociopolitical commentators" of the 1920s Berlin Cabaret scene. Both know for their appearances in the Kadeko Kabarett der Komiker which the Nazi's kept a watchful eye on eventually moved against to turn it into a venue sympathetic to the Nazi regime. Printed page dedicating the publication to a large number of colleagues incl. Emil Jannings Zille Tucholsky Ernst Rowohlt Valesca Gert Trude Hesterberg Thomas Heinrich and Klaus Mann Max Brod Fritz Lang among many others. Striking b/w photomontage on the cover featuring notable imagery and prominent cultural figures from Weimar-era culture including Bertolt Brecht and Conrad Veidt among others by Berlin designer Franz A. This oddball propagandistic work more an oratorio than opera celebrates war "sweet war" aviation and territorial conquest -- the things that cast a spell on so many Futurists and which were the essence of Fascism. Three copies located on OCLC of this libretto brochure at Berkeley Harvard and one in Italy. There are copies of the printed music elsewhere. The work was first performed at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 1937. 8vo. 20 by 13 cm. 23 pp. Dedicated to Mussolini. Pavolini like many adherents of the Futurist Movement came to embrace Fascism. Brautigan met Sherry Vetter at an Irish pub in North Beach early in 1970. He was instantly smitten and began a two-week courtship by phone. "Richard for his part tutored Sherry in his literary preferences trying to influence her reading tastes. He introduced her to the work of McClure Snyder and Creeley and to classic writers "he thought were really great like Baudelaire and Sappho." He recited poetry to her. This archive of original programs most between 24 and 28 pages shed light on the development of events as well as provide a record of the officers board members and trustees of the MDPL. Loaded with original advertisements and each issue contains the schedule of events for the corresponding year. OCLC locates "1" copy of the 1993 program.
