Pearson was considered among the most erudite theologians of his era. He was an opponent of the Roman Church and the Puritans altho he was praised by Richard Baxter. There were two variants of this work published in 1659. This is Wing P995; ESTC R7716. The other variant appeared with the words "Apostles Creed" in the title Wing P994B. With printed annotations.
