Flagg and Gould the press of Andover Theological Seminary acquired fonts in Greek and Hebrew type and because nobody else knew how to set them Stuart did it himself. Scott Paradise noted in his History of Printing in Andover that this book was the first publication using a Hebrew font to be published in America but actually several other such publications preceded it. With his work in Hebrew grammar and criticism Stuart was called the leader of Hebrew scholarship in America Americas most competent philologist and grammarian the undisputed leader in American exegetical science and one of the 19th-centurys most notable American scholars. Stuart noted that he printed only 120 copies of this book so it is extremely rare. Stuarts biographer John H. Giltner wrote that this book was the first American attempt to publish anything like a comprehensive exposition of the character and usage of the Hebrew language and a landmark in the history of American Hebrew studies. .
