This set includes the second edition of volume I and the third edition of volume II. Very scarce to find this work complete in two volumes. With an illustrated portrait to the front pastedown. With a folding plate to volume I containing facsimile signatures from the original documents. In the publisher's uniform original cloth binding.This work attempts to recount the history of John Wesley an English cleric and theologian as well as his entire family. The memoirs are compiled from original documents being materials such as correspondence and poetry. From Adam Clarke a Methodist theologian who served three times as President of the Wesleyan Methodist Conference. He was a biblical scholar with his other publication serving as an influential Bible commentary among other works. With a Wesleyan Chapel Promise Form tipped in to volume I. In the original cloth binding. Externally generally smart. With rubbing and bumping to the extremities and darkening to the spines. Marks to the boards. Front hinge to volume I is starting but firm.
