Leaves chipping at the edges with some loss.</p><p>Photograph album documenting a trip by three 20-something white American men to various locations in Mexico shortly before the U.S. entered WWII. The men flew out of El Paso Texas and traveled to Mexico City Taxco Cuernavaca Teotihuaca and other locations. In addition to typical scenes of landmarks buildings etc. the album includes rare glimpses of daily life in Mexico with images of street and market scenes a bullfight landmarks off the beaten path and more.</p> hardcover

White card measuring approximately 5½" x 8½" with six lines of original comic verse and related doodles. Signed by Jan Morris. Jan Morris born James Humphry Morris; 2 October 1926 - 20 November 2020 Welsh historian author and travel writer. Best known for the Pax Britannica trilogy 1968-1978 a history of the British Empire and for literate accounts of cities including Oxford Venice Trieste Hong Kong and New York City. Morris published under her birth name James until 1972 when she had gender reassignment surgery. As James Morris she was a member of the 1953 British Mount Everest expedition which made the first ascent of the mountain. Boldly signed by the author. Fine condition. Morris did not endorse the printed form on the back of the card see image but the provenance of the item is clear having been acquired directly from the charity auction. <br/> <br/> unknown
