Contemporary manuscript inscriptions above text "Illmõ Señor" and at bottom of page "Arzobispo y Cabildo de Charcas". Two spaces at end of printed text also accomplished in a contemporary hand. Moderate soiling printer's ink in text affecting some letters and in upper and lower margins. A good copy. A rare decree issued by the Spanish Córtes in the Real Isla de Leon on Dec. 2 1810 temporarily suspending the nominations of various ecclesiastical positions both on the peninsula and overseas due to financial reasons. The decree was to be distributed to tribunals judges governors and other civil military and ecclesiastical authorities who were responsible for ensuring that the information in the decree be properly publicized. This copy as noted in a contemporary hand was to be transmitted to the archbishop and cabildo of Charcas in South America. A rare Spanish decree concerning religious appointments and the financial situation of the government from the time of Ferdinand VII's absence from the thrown due to political intrigues related to the Peninsular War. Top portion of seal text obscured by residual wax. Good. Paper seal intended for use on Spanish government documents and letters by the King Ferdinand VII in 1808. This seal must date from the short period that Ferdinand was king in 1808 from March to May. His predecessor Charles IV had abdicated after a popular uprising and Napoléon forced Ferdinand to stand down after only two months. Ferdinand was kept prisoner in France until 1813 when he was eventually restored to the throne. He then ruled until 1833 during which time Spain lost most of its overseas colonial territories to local revolution. unknown books

Contemporary and later manuscript annotations in ink and later pencil annotation on printed sheet. Accomplished in manuscript at Soria Spain in July 1797 printed signature of "Manuél de Asprér" accompanied by his paraph "rúbrica". Moderately soiled particularly at margins slight chipping at edges. A good copy. A rare document printed in the late 1790s concerned with the astonishing prices for grains seeds and barley in Spain at the time. In order to avoid this situation in the future the author of the memorandum Manuél de Asprér requests that all local priests supply estimates of the next harvest of all types of grains. Printed entirely in italic type and accomplished in manuscript in Soria Spain in July 1797. Not recorded in OCLC. unknown books
