VERY SCARCE FIRST EDITION OF THIS FINE ITALIAN TRAVEL NARRATIVE BY MEANS OF LETTERS. The author a highly respected British surgeon went to Italy for reasons of health. The letters are from Venice Naples Rome Padua Florence Bologna and Turin. He gives a detailed account of the country and its people though a somewhat controversial one.
