Upton series of 'Golliwogg' books which began with " The Adventures of Two Dutch Dolls " which was published for Christmas 1895 with the title updated to The Adventures of Two Dutch Dolls and a "Golliwogg" in the second printing. also1895. From 1894 to 1909 Florence and her mother created a total of thirteen titles following the adventures of the happy-go-lucky Golly until changing tastes made 'Golliwogg in the African Jungle' the last in the series. To raise money for the Red Cross she donated her dolls and much of her artwork for auction in 1917 and they subsequently spent many years at Chequers before ending up at the V & A Museum of Childhood. "The Golliwogg's Bicycle Club" was the Second Book published in 1896 and though there is NO Date on the Pot T & R Boote's 'Ship' logo on the base of the Pot was a style used by the firm between c.1890 - 1906.
