Leithold, which was published in 1849 (Berlin, Mittler). That the barricades will play the lead role in the defense against external enemies is the assumption on which the book elaborates. In doing so it chronicles numerous street battles and barricade wars throughout history, crowning Paris as "The Mother of Barricades War". The book analyses the campaigns in much detail, adds footnotes and completes with a bibliography. Five finely engraved street maps help to understand some specific battles. Rare.
