Dr Joseph Bowlby was born 17 Feb. 1854 in Rush County Indiana and died 28 June 1906 in Shelbyville Indiana. His practice was in Shelby County and Shelbyville Indiana from his graduation until his death. He served as President of the Homestead Building and Loan Association was a Presbyterian a Mason and a Republican. The Ohio College of Medicine located in Cincinnati was active from 1819 until 1896 when it merged with the Dept. of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. Text of the diploma in Latin printed by Strobridge & Co. Lithographers of Cincinnati. A quite unique piece of medical Indiana and Ohio history.
