1907142830NP: Nimrod Expedition 1907. Small piece of vellum 10 X 7 cm. Printed on one side are six words which were intended to have observations recorded adjacent. Other than a bit of shrinkage to the vellum the item is in nice condition. This interesting expedition registration slip seems to have been intended for oceanographic recording. The six areas for recording are titled as follows: No.; Date; Lat.; Long; Depth; and Temp. The provenance for the slip is from the Goldberg collection as the other items in the catalogue. Other than being recorded in the Goldberg personal catalogue as from the Nimrod Expedition there is nothing else to tie it to the expedition. Still an interesting artifact. 1907 Nimrod Expedition hardcover

1904142868Buenos Aires: Local Del Instituto: Arenales 687 1904. 166 2328 pp. Octavo. Half cloth and paper covered boards binding. Worn on the edges. Numerous rubber stamps having been erased on the margins with repairs on the backs. One page with a large amount of the corner renewed with slight loss. Numerous black and white illustration. 5 folding maps. An index has been cut out from somewhere else and pasted onto the title pages. A good only copy of a rare and fragile item. This volume consists of two issues of the Argentine Geographical Institute journal bound together. The first issue appears to be complete but the second issue just has 3 extracted articles that relate to the Antarctic. The first issue appears to be totally devoted to the Antarctic and many of the articles relate to the recently rescued Swedish Antarctic Expedition. Authors include Skottsberg Nordenskjold Anderson Charcot and Jalour. The second issue includes articles by Scott Harvey and Rudmore Brown. This very scarce Argentine Journal is printed on poor quality paper which probably contributed to its scarcity. The front endpaper is inscribed in Spanish with the following: To His Excellence the President of the delegation of the Republic of Peru at the VIII Pan American Conference at Montevideo in my personal affections and signed perhaps by Francisco Segui who was the editor of the Journal. Not a prime copy but very very scarce. 1904 Local Del Instituto: Arenales 687 hardcover
