8vo., First Edition thus, with 9 plates on 8 and full-page map in the text, some very light offsetting from fold-ins to free endpapers; library cloth, a very good, bright, clean copy in unclipped dustwrapper. First published in the US in the previous year with the title 'Twenty Million Tons under the Sea'. The author was head of the US task force that captured U-505 off the coast of Africa, the only U-boat to be boarded and captured at sea. U-505 is now housed at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. The UK edition is elusive in anything like this condition. Enser, p. 429; Law 1602
4to., First Edition, text and captions in German and English, with numerous photographs throughout; blue cloth, backstrip lettered in white, a very good, bright, clean copy in price-clipped duswrapper.
