Often regarded as the first book written exclusively on gardening in the South "The Blossom Circle" is a must for serious Southern gardeners and landscapers. Deaf at an early age Dillon turned to gardening making her mark as Southern garden editor of Home & Garden magazine from 1911-1916 and as city landscape architect in Sumter South Carolina. She was a native of Augusta Georgia the "Garden City of the South " so named by Dillon and a description still in use today by the city whose homes and gardens figure prominently in this volume. Green cloth covers lightly shelfworn soiled ; front color photo intact; gilt lettering shows only very mild color loss. Contents tight but foxed mostly at endpapers. Hinges sound uncracked. 201 pages with index many interesting photos of Southern gardens and homes.
