It measures 18" x 35" with the route of the railway; extensions and other railways also noted; other boundaries in green. All the documents creating the Company set forth in the title of the pamphlet are printed each individually numbered. The Railway as the Prospectus states "extends from Ottawa in a south easterly direction a distance of 142 miles and connects with the Central Vermont Railroad at the village of Alburgh Springs Vt. U.S.A."<br /> "The Canada Atlantic Railway CAR was a small regional railway created in 1880 by lumber baron John Rodolphus Booth. Initially planned as part of the transportation network for his vast lumber holdings the railway quickly grew into a general-purpose railway serving passengers and communities along the route. Booth's first target was to gain access to Vermont in order to connect with the Central Vermont Railway CV and further exploit the US markets" "Canada Atlantic Railway" Ontario Railways accessed at Canada-Rail website May 2018.<br /> As of January 2026 2026 we do not locate either of these documents-- or the map-- on OCLC. Often regarded as the first book written exclusively on gardening in the South "The Blossom Circle" is a must for serious Southern gardeners and landscapers. Deaf at an early age Dillon turned to gardening making her mark as Southern garden editor of Home & Garden magazine from 1911-1916 and as city landscape architect in Sumter South Carolina. She was a native of Augusta Georgia the "Garden City of the South " so named by Dillon and a description still in use today by the city whose homes and gardens figure prominently in this volume. Green cloth covers lightly shelfworn soiled ; front color photo intact; gilt lettering shows only very mild color loss. Contents tight but foxed mostly at endpapers. Hinges sound uncracked. 201 pages with index many interesting photos of Southern gardens and homes. Leather cracked along both joints but binding is firm and fully intact leather typically rubbed along joints edges and corners. Toning along fore-edge to front flyleaf and first several leaves some soiling to bottom text block edge. Slight indentation along upper fore-edge of both covers. Former owner's address label mounted on lower front flyleaf one leaf pp. 29-30 mended with archival tape. Not the first leather-bound copy we've encountered so we suspect that this copy is not rebound but rather one of a limited number of specially-bound copies original to issue also issued in cloth and most commonly gray wraps lettered in burgundy and black.
