16181 — Archive includes 9 pieces from the League of Child Welfare and Maternity founded in 1919 by Frances Lady Chelmsford to ensure nationwide pre and post-natal care to women in India. In addition to 7 Typed Letters Signed by Chelmsford's assistants requesting and thanking donors for their contributions to the endowment there is an Autograph Letter Signed by Lady Chelmsford in 1920 to the royal family: "I wish to thank your Highness most warmly for your splendid contribution towards the endowment fund. Your Highness is always so generous to movements which have to their object the amelioration of the conditions of women and children."
