1914022505No Place: No publisher 1914. Wraps. Poor. Disbound leaves roughly 8 by 7 inches with a cardstock front cover bearing a label with the student's name and year Marion Conaway 1914. 14 leaves with 12 of the 14 containing a piece of fabric that displays an example of various stitches mostly along hems or seams. The fabric is mounted by metal fasteners. Laid in is a certificate issued in 1918 from the Victory Girls and the United War Work Campaign certifying that Ms. Conaway paid a dollar toward the United War Work Campaign and was deemed an official Victory Girl. This campaign was created as a way for people in the US to support troops during World War I. Presumably the booklet was done for school demonstrating the variety of sewing and stitching techniques that was being taught. POOR condition. Booklet falling apart with all leaves detached and cover detached. Lacking a rear cover. The paper mountings are toned and brittle with some chipping and loss along the edges. The fabrics are clean although some are folded due to mishandling. No publisher unknown

GOOD condition. Moderate fading and some spots of discoloration to the covers. Mostly minor soiling. Some scuffing. White streak/stain perhaps from paint to the lower rear cover. Poster for a Friday November 13 1970 rally protesting the Vietnam War that was held at the Syracuse Induction Center. A comply-in followed the rally at the Selective Service Board. With a large peace symbol slightly resembling a skull and outlined in a red omega symbol used by resisters to the Vietnam War. GOOD condition. Minor toning. Some wrinkling and faint creasing to the paper. Minor soiling. Small spot near the lower left corner. One or two tiny tears to the extremities. No publisher unknown

Sapolio was known for its very successful ads and jingles some penned by Bret Harte some by James Kenneth Fraser and others. This booklet features a variety of townsfolk with accompanying rhymes all promoting Sapolio. GOOD condition. General wrinkling minor toning and soiling to the covers. Light curling at the corners. Name Withheld for privacy. 6 items as follows: two reproductions of a State Prison Escape Bulletin relating to the former owner's apparent escape from the Sierra Conservation Center Correctional Facility where they were held for robbery; small mug shots photo with prisoner id number; a certificate from the City of Los Angeles issued to the person for their participation in holding the Festival in Black a festival that celebrated Black community and culture in Los Angeles; A drawing of two young Black children by the owner signed and dated 19 99; a drawing portrait of Malcolm X who is imagining a cross with KKK on it as well as a tree with a noose also signed and dated as previous entry. Other than the photo the papers are roughly 8 ½ by 11 inches or slightly bigger. Very little information could be found on the previous owner although based on provenance they were the child of a Black activist. All in VERY GOOD or so condition with minor scattered wrinkling soiling and edgewear. No publisher unknown
