Uno stile la cui perfezione ha reclamato, appunto, la definizione di classico. Che cosa ha reso possibile questa prodigiosa sintesi, e che cosa si cela dietro l'incanto che secoli dopo ancora ci pervade all'ascolto? Rosen spezza il circolo vizioso dei modelli analitici astratti, e restituisce "il senso della libertà e della vitalità" di questo stile, tra formularità e arguzia, sperimentalismo e convenzione.
