Decorative color half title present or perhaps an original front wrap. 81 pp. The musical score and lyrics to La Navarraise an opera based on a short story 'La Cigarette' by Jules Claretie and set in Spain during the Carlist War of 1874. The libretto was written by Clariete and Henri Cain with the music written by the noted 19th century French composer Jules Massenet. The opera was first performed in London in 1894. GOOD condition. Spine and hinges reinforced along the exterior with black binding tape a bit heavy-handedly. General fading with minor to moderate uneven soiling to the covers. A few small dark ink stains/streaks to the front cover. Minor scuffing and edgewear. Interior hinges reinforced with tape. Several oval ownership/bookseller stamps on the first few endpapers and title page. Text block solid and toned. Heugel and Cie, Publishers unknown
