Die vorliegende Faksimile-Ausgabe, die alle Einzelteile in Originalgrösse zusammenfasst, wurde mit Bewilligung der Preussischen Staatsbibliothek im Jahre 1924 von der Firma C.G.Röder GmbH, Leipzig für den Fr. Kistner & C.F. Siegel Verlag, Leipzig hergestellt. ca. 300 S. Grüner Leineneinband. Einband und Rücken kaum angeschmutzt, Rücken sehr leicht beschädigt (ohne Fehlstelle), Schnitt etwas angebräunt, kaum angeschmutzt, Seiten sehr wenig angebräunt, sauber, vier lose oder lockere Doppelseiten wurden fachmännisch am Buchsteg eingeklebt. Ausgesprochen guter Zustand. / The original manuscript of Beethoven, stored in Berlin, consists of a bound volume and more loose sheets in different formats. The facsimile edition at hand combines all individual parts in one format. It was printed by Firma C.G.Röder GmbH, Leipzig, on behalf of Fr. Kistner & C.F. Siegel Verlag, Leipzig under permit of the Prussian State Library. Approx. 300 pages with green cloth binding. Binding and spine scarcely worn, spine slightly damaged but no surface defect, edge somewhat browned, pages slightly browned, four loose double pages expertly glued into place. Extremely good condition. Kistner & Siegel ist ein Musikverlag, der 1923 durch die Verschmelzung der Verlage C. F. W. Siegel und Fr. Kistner in Leipzig entstand. Diese einmalige Faksimile-Ausgabe wurde in einer Auflage von max. 200 Stück hergestellt. Die Mehrzahl der Exemplare gelangte gar nicht in den Handel - sie wurden nämlich vom Verlag für repräsentative Zwecke verwendet, bzw. sie wurden im Dezember 1943 bei einem Bombenangriff auf die Stadt vernichtet. / Kistner & Siegel is a music publisher created from the 1923 merger of publishers C. F. W. Siegel and Fr. Kistner in Leipzig. This one-of-a-kind facsimile edition was produced with max. 200 issues. Exceptionally rare first edition first issue of one of the most frequently performed symphonies in the world containing the subscribers' list but not the composer's notorious metronome markings which were added in later issues. Quarto bound in nineteenth-century marbled boards with a blank label to the front panel all edges yellow printed with plate number 2322 subscribers' list present illustrated with a lithographic title page and engraved with music throughout. Inscribed by William Waterhouse on the front free endpaper "from Robert Hermann London." William Waterhouse was an English bassoonist and musicologist who played with notable orchestras in the twentieth century and recorded all the wind chamber music by Beethoven with the Melos Ensemble. In near fine condition with some rubbing to the extremities and traces of the original pale blue wrappers to outer pages no plate number to page 191 and blank final leaf missing. An excellent example with remarkably deep clean impressions. One of the great monuments of western civilization The Ninth Symphony was composed between 1822 and 1824 and performed in Vienna on 7 May 1824 at the Karntnertortheater. It was the first major symphony to include a choral finale and set the model for future large-scale choral symphonies.
