Rockefeller Jr. wanted to replace Robert W. Stewart as Chairman of the Board at least partly because of Stewart's suspected involvement in the Continental Trading scandal. Stewart resisted. This document was sent to shareholder's to support Stewart's retention. A majority of the the company's 58000 individual stockholders supported Stewart but Rockefeller prevailed with support from many of the major shareholders at the annual meeting held on March 7 1929 at the company's annual meeting in Whiting Indiana. We don't know what Stewart did after losing his position at Standard Oil Company Indiana unknown
