April 1976".<p>Presentation copy inscribed to Arthur Brin on the front endpaper signed in full by Sol Lesser and dated "June 3rd 1976".<p>Sol Lesser 1890-1980 was a major American film producer and presenter. Lesser signed Jackie Coogan to a movie contract in 1922 making the hit films "Oliver Twist" and "Peck's Bad Boy" and establishing both Coogan and himself as major Hollywood names. He worked with such stars as Bela Lugosi George O'Brien and Bobby Breen produced the all-star revue "Stage Door Canteen" and most notably was responsible for a series of Tarzan films starring Johnny Weismuller Lex Barker and Gordon Scott. Lesser won a 1951 Academy Award for "Kon Tiki". In 1960 he was the recipient of the Jean Hersholt Humanitatian Award.<p>Laid in is a four-page leaflet recording "The Life and Times of Sol Lesser" on the occasion of an award to Lesser from the National Association of Theatre Owners.<p>RARE. 1976. paperback
